Official Puma Ireland rugby training shirt from the 2011/12 international season. 

This is Puma's 'player issue' version of the jersey, as worn by the players. It features a an upgraded material mix, a slim fitting design and a neoprene pouch sewn into the back of the collar (used to house a GPS device that tracks a players' performance).

Ireland were in Pool C for the 2011 Rugby World Cup with Australia, Russia, USA and Italy. Their first pool game was against the USA, which ended in a 22–10 victory for Ireland.Ireland's second pool game was against Australia. Despite being underdogs, Ireland recorded their first victory over Australia at a World Cup with a 15–6 win. 

Ireland comfortably beat Russia 62–12 in their third pool game. Ireland secured first place in the pool with a 36–6 win over Italy, the first time that Ireland were group winners in their World Cup history. Ireland lost their quarter final to Wales 10–22.

Ireland's 2012 Six Nations Championship campaign began with 21–23 defeat at the hands of Wales. Ireland's second game, away to France, was called off due to a frozen pitch. Ireland beat Italy 42–10 in their second fixture of the 2012 Six Nations. 

Ireland's third game was the re-arranged fixture against France at the Stade de France, which was drawn 17–17. Ireland beat Scotland 32–14 in their Round 4 game. Ireland's final 2012 Six Nations game was away to England, which the hosts won 30–9, meaning Ireland finished third overall with two wins, one draw and two defeats.
