With the rebuilding of Lansdowne Road, a new venue was required; Croke Park, home of the Gaelic Athletic Association, hosted two 2007 Six Nations games against France and England. Ireland's 2008 Six Nations campaign included three losses. Eddie O'Sullivan resigned as Ireland coach and Declan Kidney was appointed.
