This is Puma's superior 'player issue' version of the jersey, as worn by the players. It features a slim fitting design, rubber crest & manufacturer logo on the chest, textured grip assist, an upgraded material mix, a neoprene pouch sewn to the back of the collar (used to house a GPS device that tracks a players' performance, and reinforced seems for increased durability.

Ireland opened their 2014 Six Nations Championship with wins over Scotland and Wales. Ireland lost 10–13 to England. Ireland won their next match against Italy 46–7. Ireland beat France 22–20 in the final round to claim the Six Nations title. In November they defeated South Africa 29–15 and Australia 26–23 at Dublin.
